The computer lab is available to support teaching, learning, and research activities. The lab is equipped with desktop computers, internet access, and essential software to provide a conducive and reliable environment for academic use.

Who Can Use the Computer Lab?

1. Open to all USM library users
2. Access is on a walk-in basis
3. Subject to availability (first come, first served)

Basic Rules & Guidelines

The purpose of these guidelines is to ensure that computer lab facilities are used responsibly, fairly, and safely by all users. The facilities must not be used for any activities that violate university regulations, copyright laws, or any applicable legislation.

Computer Labs rules and regulations

1. The computer lab is for ACADEMIC and RESEARCH purposes only
2. NO food or drinks allowed inside the lab
3. Users must KEEP the area clean and tidy
4. DO NOT install unauthorized software or tamper with equipment
5. SAVE your work regularly to cloud storage or personal devices. Any unsaved work will be lost once the computer is rebooted.
6. DO NOT remove any equipment from the computer lab. Any form of theft is a serious offence.
7. DO NOT unplug or tamper with cables or equipment. Network and power connections are for lab computers only.
8. Please LOG OFF and shut down properly after use.

Lab Closure

1. Temporary closures may occur for maintenance, events, or official purposes
2. Changes or updates to the computer lab operation hours will be displayed on the notice board outside the lab and the USM Library Website

1. Usage is subject to library rules and regulations
2. Computers are shared facilities—please be considerate of other users

LOCATION: GROUND FLOOR

There are 30 computers located at the Computer Lab, Engineering Library which are available for customers. Users need to scan in using Matric Card or QR Passport USM to access the lab.

The computer lab consists of 30 units of personal computers with full Internet and online databases access. Users are required to abide by the regulations as stipulated by the Library.
