Massive Open Online Course (MOOC)@USM Library, is a service initiative developed and coordinated by the Academic Reference and Support Division, Universiti Sains Malaysia Library with guidance from the Centre for Development of Academic Excellence (CDAE). Aiming to expand the concept of higher education under four main principles, namely by providing modules characterized by "Quality Education", "Sustainability", "Accessibility", and "Lifelong Learning",
The development of this MOOC involves the blended learning approach using the combination of green screen and screen recording, Cisco Webex recording, infographics, videos and slides and others. This module is useful as the first e-guide to all especially those newcomers to Universiti Sains Malaysia.

Fundamentals of Information Literacy Skills (FILS)
The course introduces the USM library, explores the resources, services, facilities including learning process on building the information literacy skills and the effective searching strategy. Designed with five (5) sub modules starting with the Overview of Information Literacy and Information Literate; Roles and Functions of USM Libraries; Accessing the Collections of Lifelong Learning in USM Libraries; Accessing the Collections of Lifelong Learning in USM Libraries; and finally, the Learning and Research Support Services.
