User Education Programmes
On-Demand Workshop is a training session offered by the library that delivers the same modules and content as the regular monthly workshops but is conducted on a date requested by users based on their availability. This initiative allows faculties, research groups, or departments to arrange training sessions at a more convenient time that suits their schedules. The workshop covers key topics such as literature searching, use of academic databases, reference management tools, research metrics, and other research support services. A minimum of 10 participants is required to organize an On-Demand Workshop. For requests or further information, please contact Mr. Mohd Fariz Izwan at
FILS Workshop is designed to introduce students to the basic principles of information literacy and the effective use of library resources. The workshop aims to equip participants with essential skills to identify information needs, search for relevant academic materials, evaluate information sources, and use information ethically in their academic work. During the session, participants are guided on how to use the library catalogue, access electronic databases and e-journals, and apply effective search strategies to locate information resources. Through this workshop, students gain foundational skills that support independent learning and enable them to effectively utilize library resources for their academic studies and research activities.
Special Workshop is a focused training session organized by the library featuring invited experts, industry professionals, or distinguished speakers in specific academic or research fields. These workshops aim to provide participants with advanced knowledge, practical skills, and current insights on selected topics related to research, academic writing, information literacy, or emerging technologies. Through expert sharing, demonstrations, and interactive discussions, participants are exposed to best practices and real-world perspectives that enhance their learning and research capabilities. The workshop also provides an opportunity for participants to engage directly with special figures, fostering knowledge exchange, networking, and collaboration.
Library Orientation Program is designed to introduce new students to the facilities, services, and resources available at the university library. The program aims to familiarize participants with essential library services, including access to physical and electronic resources, study spaces, and research support services. During the session, students are guided on how to search for books and academic materials using the library catalogue, access online databases and e-journals, and utilize various digital tools that support learning and research. By participating in this program, students gain the foundational skills needed to navigate library resources effectively and to support their academic success throughout their studies.
Library Roadshow is an outreach initiative organized by the library to bring its services, resources, and expertise directly to faculties, schools, or departments within the university. The program aims to increase awareness and promote the effective use of library collections, databases, and research support services among academic staff. Through interactive briefings, demonstrations, and consultation sessions, participants are introduced to key library tools, digital resources, and services that support teaching, learning, and research activities. The roadshow also provides an opportunity for users to engage directly with librarians, ask questions, and receive guidance on accessing information resources and research support platforms. Library Roadshow strengthens the connection between the library and its users while enhancing the visibility and utilization of library services across the campus.
