The Collaborative Learning Space at Engineering Library is designed to maximizes student collaboration and engagement. Hence, through physical design enable connection and educational activities. The space too promotes and creates innovative pedagogy in learning and teaching environment.

    The computer lab consists of 30 units of personal computers with full Internet and online databases access. Users are required to abide by the regulations as stipulated by the Library. 

PUSM Computer lab facility

The USM Library Computer Labs provide a comfortable and convenient space for library users to access computers for academic and research purposes.

Access desktop computers, internet facilities, and online academic resources in a comfortable library environment.

  • Monday - Thursday : 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM 

  • Friday : 8:30 AM – 12:15 PM | 2:45 PM – 4:00 PM

  • Saturday & Sunday : Closed

  • Public Holiday: Closed

Who Can Use the Computer Lab?

  1. Open to all USM library users
  2. Access is on a walk-in basis
  3. Subject to availability (first come, first served)

Facilities Available

  1. Desktop computers with internet access
  2. Access to online databases and academic resources
  3. Comfortable study environment

Basic Rules & Guidelines

The purpose of these guidelines is to ensure that computer lab facilities are used responsibly, fairly, and safely by all users. The facilities must not be used for any activities that violate university regulations, copyright laws, or any applicable legislation.

Computer Labs rules and regulations

  1. The computer lab is for ACADEMIC and RESEARCH purposes only
  2. NO food or drinks allowed inside the lab
  3. Users must KEEP the area clean and tidy
  4. DO NOT install unauthorized software or tamper with equipment
  5. SAVE your work regularly to cloud storage or personal devices. Any unsaved work will be lost once the computer is rebooted.
  6. DO NOT remove any equipment from the computer lab. Any form of theft is a serious offence.
  7. DO NOT unplug or tamper with cables or equipment. Network and power connections are for lab computers only.
  8. Please LOG OFF and shut down properly after use.

Lab Closure

  1. Temporary closures may occur for maintenance, events, or official purposes
  2. Changes or updates to the computer lab operation hours will be displayed on the notice board outside the lab and the USM Library Website

VIOLATION OF REGULATIONS

Users who violate any of the above rules may be subject to strict action, including (but not limited to):

  1. Being prohibited from entering the laboratory
  2. Revocation of USMNet facilities (if applicable)
  3. Being referred to the Disciplinary Board

IMPORTANT NOTES

  1. Usage is subject to library rules and regulations
  2. Computers are shared facilities—please be considerate of other users

By entering, users agree to follow all rules. Violations may lead to suspension of lab privileges.

Users with disabilities who need special assistance accessing library services or materials are encouraged to contact us to make arrangements in advance. The Library will assign a staff for assistance if necessary to manage your needs related to the resources, services or tools that available. Please consult us at i-counter when visit library. All rooms located at level 1 PHS 1 for easy access.
